DAY 55 Hue, Vietnam (Visit #2) February 21, 2024 Today's excursion was along the coast to Da Nang city and then into the interior to the location of the Cham Ruins. The Cham people lived from the 4th Century until the 14th century in Vietnam and have buildings left in multiple places across the country. These ruins are not just old, but amazing as there is no mortar holding the bricks together. 500,000 Vietnam Dong - about $20.00 The fact that you can still walk inside these structures is pretty amazing! It would end up being our last hot day. Over 90 degrees with pretty high humidity and a hot sun. A quick stop at a marble statue showroom - near the Marble Mountains. No purchases today....just a bit heavy for our suitcases! Tonight was a dinner invite from the ship's General Manager Gabriel (a real Alec Baldwin look-alike) from Transylvania and Future Cruise Holly from Great Britain in the Privee dining room.

DAY 54 - Nha Trang, Vietnam (Visit #2) February 20, 2024 This was to be a quiet day of rest on the ship. But after getting to know the cruise piano bar player Mark and his girlfriend Leah, we found out about a place that makes guitars in town. Leah knew the way and we got a taxi to a beautiful craft market with all kinds of shops and artisans. We watched the local entertainment for a short time, then moved on to the shops. Leslie bought a Vietnamese outfit and I found a hand-made guitar - for $130 US.
