DAY 25 - Langkawi, Malaysia

DAY 26 - Melaka, Malaysia

DAY 27 -  Penang, Malaysia

DAY28  and DAY 29- Kuala Lumpur, (Port Klang), Malaysia

January 22 through January 26, 2024

Looking back on the past 5 days, we saw a lot of beautiful buildings, countrysides and temples. Each city had it's own uniqueness and flavor, and the excursions were well done.

But each of the cities were pretty close to each other and we actually saw a lot of the same things.  A colorful Hindu Temple, a China-town, an India-town, lots of small shops and local restaurants.

Each city had a particular attraction that was unlike any of the other cities.  So I will try to point those out and give everyone a quick overview of Malaysia as we head to Singapore tonight.

Langkawi was a visit to rice garden where we learned how to plant and harvest rice in them old way.  In the afternoon we took a cable car to the highest pint on the island (7,000 ft) for views of the surrounding landscape.

In Melaka we took a "tri-shaw' around town with our drive "Boy" the highlights were temples, mosques, buddhas, and government.  Plus some shopping!

Penang offered much of the same except we were able to visit the famous reclining Buddha and a a Chinese Clan House...which was exceptional.

Our driver "Boy'!

The largest reclining Buddha!

We both made sure to rub the Happy Buddha's head  on the way out!

Kuala Lumpur is about an hour's drive from Port Klang to downtown  It is the largest city in Malaysia and has the second tallest building in the world.  Lots of recognizable hotel names as this is such an international city. We also saw the changing of the guard at the Presidential Palace as this city is the capital of Malaysia. A quick rain stop for pictures from the bus at the Blue Mosque on the way back.  The day ended with a nice Local Folklore Show in the treater on the ship.

The last day became a sea day as we were running out of gas and needed a pool visit, a rest, and a quiet dinner in!!
