DAY 49  -  Sea day - Cruising the Gulf of Thailand

February 15, 2024

We have really enjoyed the food on the ship...there are 4 specialty dining venues - Jacques (French), Polo (Steak house), Toscana (Italian) and Red Ginger (Asian). There is also a casual lunch (burgers, hot dogs and fries, broiled fish, and sometimes bbq ribs).  It is great for a quick bite in your swimsuit....and it has a milk shake bar around the corner....that doubles as a juice bar in the mornings.  At night it becomes a pizza place.  We sometimes go to the formal dining room with a very attentive waitstaff and sommeliers and nice tables and place settings.  But our "go to" dinner has become the buffet. We can go dress-casual, eat as much or as little as we want, sit outside or in the air conditioning, and go at our own pace.  Tonight was a Chef's Market Southeast Asian night.  We could only try half of the food as there was so much.  But again the presentation and the food were wonderful!

Coconut Red Snapper on the left and carved Pork Belly on the right

Multiple salads and appetizers

A selection of 5 different kinds of dumplings

Summer rolls and radish wraps

And the dessert table with ice cream and chocolate and caramel sautéed bananas.

My first plate...clockwise...fried rice, pork belly, coconut snapper in Thai sauce, shrimp, pork, and veggie dumplings, some kind of meat patty to try,  a summer roll, and squid satay on the stick. And a ginger ale!
