DAY 71 - Seoul (Incheon), Korea

March 8, 2024

It was a late afternoon arrival in the port, passports were needed to be reviewed, and it was a Friday night.  All this meant an 8pm arrival at our hotel in Seoul.  We were exhausted, but I had made a dinner reservation at the tapas bar at the hotel. Leslie has never been a fan of Korean food...John really did not know much about it.  It was supposed to be a three plate tapas with three drinks. But this definitely brought a new meaning to strange food.

Dried herring in rice paper with caviar.  Rice popcorn on the side. Beef tartare
with a seaweed chip.  Pumpkin tea with chewy rice cake balls.

One giant ice cube. Extra flavoring on the outside of the glass

Sea Bass and shrimp in a blend of 5 local rice porridge. Part of the shrimp skin was on top.

A side view of the same above.

Some type of sausage with lobster bites and more chewy rice balls

That's more rice popcorn on the ice in our drinks.

Five vegetables tightly wrapped in thick rice paper.  Covered in an unknown sauce.

But dessert was great!  Sweet rice sorbet with caramel, strawberries and mint.
  And more rice popcorn.

Definitely a ten on presentation.. But you had to eat it.  Drinks were good and dessert left you with a good taste.  But VERY kind people served us and explained the food as best they could. Leslie took one bite of each...John picked out a few tasty bites in each.  Happy to head up to the room!
